The Martini Lounge...! 28th April

Five long years ago, that has passed by unbelievably quickly, I was fed up of the lack of an amazing burlesque show in my local Liverpool. There were two nights that had burlesque on at that time, a night in the now closed Korova Bar, that featured pole dancing, drag acts, human fruit tables etc, so was aptly named "Strip Club". I actually performed my debut here back in 2006, and became their resident burlesque performer.
The other night which is still going but sans burlesque was The Go Go Cage. I also performed here regularly dancing alongside the bands including Doktor Combover, the composers of my amazing Blue Martini music! Their night has now moved into The Cabin Club and have bands playing every first Saturday of the month.
After Strip club ended there was a lack of events, and after talking to the lovely folk at The Royal Court we planned the first ever Martini Lounge for December 2007, a year after I started performing full time. We ran sold out events here every two months from 2007 till 2010 when we moved into a larger venue to cope with demand for tickets!
Now in a weeks time it will be the second show in the new venue, The Epstein Theater. We had the honor of hosting the first event in there since it's reopening after six years closure. It's a truly beautiful venue right in the heart of Liverpool's City Center and it is just perfect  for us!
This coming show, Saturday 28th April, will be yet another amazing event, with myself, the wonderful Fred Bear, the beautiful Bijou Noir, the lovely Luna Rosa, amazing skill from Mat Ricardo, and at last, something I've always wanted to feature at the show but has only just become possible, Aerial from Black&Blue!

We've had so many amazing performers over the past five years, coming from all over the world, and I've performed at all of these events myself and think that my audience, especially the regulars, have seen my acts and routines evolve and change over that time.
I've met so many friends through the show and I know so many people who have met via the shows, we even have a Martini Baby...! Tho she didn't call him Martinez like I suggested!
I hope there are many many more years to come for my little show, that has now become one of the biggest in the UK!

  1. That looks amazing! Wish I could come, but the June show is the only one that I could make - were it not that it's 2 days after my exams and I don't want to come with massive suitcases. But maybe the one after that...?
When you did the first Martini Lounge did you expect it to go on for so many years (with every one selling out)?

    1. I had no idea it would last so long, I didn't really plan out what might have happened with it rather just take each show at a time but now we're booking and selling well in advance!

    2. That must be a fantastic feeling. And hopefully one day I'll be able to go and see it myself.
